NEW CLASS STARTING – TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR DIABETES

Take Charge of Your Diabetes is a free workshop series designed to help community members manage their long-term health issues effectively.  If you have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, if you have diabetes, live with someone who has diabetes, or are the caretaker of someone living with diabetes the Take Charge class can help you take control of your life, or help a family member or friend take control of their life.

There is no charge, but you must register beforehand.   Issues addressed include: 
  • Manage Symptoms
  • Fight fatigue and pain
  • Learn how to count carbs and understand food labels - learn how to make diabetic friendly meal plans and choices
  • Manage your medication, communicate better with your doctor, family member and friends
  • Learn how to communicate with your health care professional effectively
  • Learn about good exercise options for yourself
  • Learn how to lead a fuller and better life despite having a chronic condition        
There will be a total of 6 sessions.  While Take Charge is lead by a certified Health Professional/Educator, participants are encouraged to actively contribute to the sessions and to work together to find solutions and set healthy goals.   There is no charge but you must register beforehand.
