SUMMARY:Roane County Employers Association Workshop - "Discover Your Best: Understanding Personality Styles"
DESCRIPTION:Your personality can have a great deal of impact on your career-and your success in it but you probably don't have time to think about your personality style often. During this presentation\, you will. Personality tests are now used by many organizations in hiring\, professional development\, and performance evaluation. The tests are also used to enable coworkers to better understand and communicate with one another.\n\n\n\nWhile there are a ton of different personality tests available\, it's generally not too difficult to identify the primary personality type of an individual\, as well as secondary types. This presentation uses the "BEST" Model Personality Style Evaluation which comes from selecting 18 statements among 36 that best reflect your unique personality style. We will focus on your strengths as an individual and:\n\n\n	Complete your personal "BEST" Model Personality Style Evaluation\n	Discover the four basic personality styles\n	Determine strengths and weaknesses of each style\n	Identify effective ways to approach each style\n	Develop a plan of action to increase cooperation with your most challenging style\n\nGuest speaker Betsy Cunningham has more than 20 years' experience in Human Resources and Risk Management. Cunningham is presently the Community & Business Development Coordinator for Y-12 Federal Credit Union. In this newly created position her primary focus is to increase community involvement and obtain new business for the 14 branches in 8 counties. Prior to joining Y-12 FCU she was the Communications Coordinator for Blount County Schools. In that role she was responsible for managing media relations and establishing a public relations strategy for the School System. Cunningham was part of the Corporate Training Department at US Foodservice for several years. In her position she delivered training programs throughout the Country for over 20 divisions. She facilitated training programs ranging from Workplace Harassment\, The ABC's of Supervision and Customer Service. Cunningham has been a Dale Carnegie Instructor for the last 25 years and has facilitated many classes focusing on Human Relations and Communication Skills. She is certified to facilitate the High Impact Presentations Program which trains presenters and speakers to become more powerful and persuasive in their delivery to achieve impactful results. Cunningham has facilitated Assertive Communication Training for the University of Tennessee non-credit programs and she continues to deliver customized training sessions for non-profits in the East Tennessee area. Her passion is to facilitate a positive learning environment where through incidental learning others can enhance their skills to become better in all they do.\n\n \nLunch is provided to members and first time guests of non-member organizations. Non-members pay $20 to attend the meeting.
